COVID-19 is an acute infectious disease of the respiratory system caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Current clinical experience indicates the need for the earliest possible implementation of physiotherapy in hospital wards and intensive care units treating patients with COVID-19. The conducted rehabilitation includes the following: breathing exercises, antithrombotic exercises, general improvement exercises, walking training, cyclo-ergometer training, and self-care ADL exercises. Professionally conducted physiotherapy improves exercise tolerance and lung ventilation. Hospital rehabilitation of patients with COVID-19 is as integral to the patient’s treatment as nursing and medical care.
