Aim
The aim of the study is to analyze the quality of life of patients undergoing daily chemotherapy in the course of colorectal cancer.
Material and methods
The standardized EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire in Polish was used, obtained with the permission of the EORTC. With the permission of the Specialist Hospital in Brzeziny, 200 day-patient chemotherapy patients were surveyed, after obtaining individual consent from each patient. The paper survey results were transferred to Microsoft Forms and then to Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics 29, where Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, Mann-Whitney U tests, Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA, and Spearman's rho correlation analysis were used to statistically analyze the results.
Results
The study involved 200 people, the vast majority of whom were men. The vast majority of respondents were urban residents aged 56-65. The largest group of respondents had vocational education and were married. The vast majority of respondents were retired or receiving a disability pension.
Conclusions
The analysis revealed that professionally active individuals, younger individuals, and those with higher levels of education had higher quality of life. It was also demonstrated that females and single individuals were more likely to experience higher levels of shortness of breath, and that individuals living in larger cities were less likely to experience diarrhea during chemotherapy.
