The number of cases of diabetes is constantly growing. Limited physical effort while performing daily activities is one of the key factors affecting the increase in the risk of type 2 diabetes. Taking into account diabetic complications such as neuropathy, and micro-and macroangiopathy, individually planned rehabilitation programs should be considered in the treatment process. Physical activity is a non-pharmacological method of treatment and prophylaxis of diabetic complications, which brings many positive benefits for health. Physiotherapy plays an important role in the treatment process through the use of methods such as: massage, kinesiotherapy, balneotherapy, physical therapy, and independent, systematic exercise. Each physical activity should be appropriately adjusted to the existing complications, and the appropriate dosage of insulin should be taken into account. The main goal of the presented physiotherapy treatments is to deaden the pain, increase muscle strength, and prevent muscle atrophies and contractures.
