Aim:
Diabetes is currently classified as a lifestyle disease characterized by high levels of glucose in the body. It is estimated that in 2045 the number of people with diabetes in the world will increase to 783.2 million. The concept of quality of life, especially in chronic diseases, is particularly important because it enables the introduction of activities that may improve the quality of life of these people. The aim of the study was to assess the quality of life of people with type 2 diabetes treated at home and the factors influencing it.

Material and methods:
Two survey questionnaires were used in the study: the author's questionnaire and the standardized WHOQoL-BREF quality of life assessment scale. IBM SPSS Statistics 20 was used to process the data, with a significance level of p < 0.05. All respondents gave informed, written consent to participate in the study. The study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.

Results:
The study group of patients with type 2 diabetes consisted of 400 people (50% women and 50% men). The average age of the respondents was 62.62 years (SD=14.45). The respondents' quality of life was the highest in the social domain (65 points) and the lowest in the physical domain (55.21 points).

Conclusions:
Patients following a diet and physical activity had a better quality of life. Factors such as the duration of the disease, overweight, female gender and the occurrence of late complications reduced the quality of life of the subjects.
