Confronting perimenopausal women’s knowledge of coronary heart disease with their health behaviours. Controversial role of hormone replacement therapy in the protection of coronary heart disease

Introduction

Multiple myeloma is one of the most common haematological cancer among adults. The main symptom of multiple myeloma is bone pain because of osteolysis, usually confused with osteoporosis. The basis method of treatment is chemotherapy with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Aim

The purpose of the work is case study of patient with diagnosed multiple myeloma and presentation of patient problems and nursing interventions in peri-transplant period

Material and methods

Information was collected by observation, interview and analysis of medical documentation of patient. Presented case show a 53 years old women, with multiple myeloma, who was treated by chemotherapy with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Results

One of the potential factors, which influence on development of cancer is lack of appropriate amount of dream, but in the literature we can find controversial information. Using ICNP® in practice, makes easier work of nurses.

Conclusions

Patients nursing care after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is difficult. As a result of treatment side effects, patients have a lot of problems. They require professional care and support.
