Results
Patients' quality of life was reduced in the dimension of physical health. Quality of life was at a low level in the elderly, in women, in those with lower education and in residents of cities. The severity of symptoms affected the overall assessment of quality of life.
Conclusions
The overall quality of life of the patients was reduced. The level of acceptance of the disease and the quality of life of the respondents are influenced by socio-demographic factors and the clinical course of the disease. The severity of symptoms affected the overall assessment of quality of life. Health education of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases regarding the disease, self-care and skilful support in difficult situations is the basis for increasing the assessment of the quality of life and the level of acceptance of the disease.
