Hypertension is a lifestyle disease that is the most common cause of death in women and men. According to WHO, 1.28 billion people aged 30-79 suffer from hypertension. The problem affects both women and men of all ages. The aim of the work was to present the role of a nurse in caring for a patient with hypertension. Material and methods: The study uses the casuistic method, a study of an individual case of a patient with hypertension. In order to collect information about the patient, the following research techniques were used: observation, interview, analysis of medical records and measurements. Results: The patient had health problems - overweight, constipation, lack of knowledge about proper diet, low mood. The patient is aware of the causes of her health condition and the complications that may occur in the event of failure to comply with medical or nursing recommendations or fails to change her lifestyle. The biggest problem facing the patient is the lack of knowledge about a rational diet. Lack of motivation, willingness to diet and lack of exercise is one of the fundamental pillars of maintaining normal blood pressure values. Conclusions: Thanks to the nursing actions taken to care for the patient, improvement was achieved in many areas. Undoubtedly, a huge role in this patient's case was education about the need to take medications regularly, regular blood pressure checks, regular doctor visits, proper nutrition, physical activity, and avoiding stress and difficult situations. |
