AIm The effectiveness of diabetes care depends on many factors, among which the quality and experience of the therapeutic team play an important role. An interdisciplinary and qualified diabetes team includes not only doctors and nurses, but also dietitians, physiotherapists and diabetes educators. The study analyzed the role of nursing care with particular emphasis on nursing tasks in the care of patients with diabetes in hospital conditions. Material and methods The study was conducted among 50 patients of the Internal Medicine Department of the Provincial Hospital in Plock. The study focused on nursing tasks undertaken in the care of hospitalised patients with diabetes. The research material was obtained through a diagnostic survey using an original questionnaire and two standardized tools regarding the issue of diabetes. Results:The vast majority of patients, in addition to typical clinical symptoms, also experience emotional stress closely related to the disease. Conclusions Nursing care for patients with diabetes has many important health-promoting aspects and should take into account not only the aspect of physical health, but also psychoemotional support. In summary, effective diabetes care requires an interdisciplinary model in which nurses play a pivotal role in supporting physicians and psychologists, ensuring both clinical oversight and psychological support are integrated into the therapeutic process. |
